| Responsibilities : Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principlesDocuments monthly student counseling sessionsAssesses and evaluates continuously those students assigned to them on both formal and informal levels.Provides assistance to students in continuing their education or entering into additional training; and in connecting with community services necessary for successful transition from school to workFacilitates, maintains, andattends student evaluation panels and submits appropriate reportsSubmits written student reports and evaluations as needed forCenter Director requestReview Board referralsStudent referrals to the Mental Health ConsultantProper requests from outside agenciesParticipates in the training of all staff; especially in individual and group counseling techniquesParticipates in joint sessions with resident advisors and the Center mental health consultantFacilitates small group counseling sessions where possibleDiscusses students at least once monthly with the assigned resident advisorsProvides counseling related assistance as needed to all other staff functions within the CenterDevelops a close working relationship with the Center Mental Health ConsultantParticipates in the Student Leadership Training ProgramParticipates in orientation, CPP, and development of employability plans for studentsFacilitates the student AWOL retrieval process dailyConfers with parents and admissions counselors.Makes referrals to local resourcesConducts intake interview for new enrollees soon after arrival but no later than 72 hoursAttends in-service training sessions as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedAttends center outcome measurement meeting weekly.Is assigned to a CTT cluster and expected to work integrally within that area.
Requirements :MinimumBachelor Degree required, including 15 semester hours of instruction in Social Services related area. One year experience in a counseling capacity or related field.Preferred Corps experience preferredGeneral InformationIn order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must be able to compose/write descriptive reports; use appropriate techniques to implement programmatic activities; verbally direct individuals and groups; remedydysfunctional behavior; intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/safe physical management restraint techniques; successfully complete mandated training courses.
