Prepares sketches and/or schematic diagrams. Works independently, exercises latitude and independent judgement to develop designs. Prepares accurate layout, detail and assembly drawings. May review work of Designers on some phases of design. Confers with design originator, appropriate engineering and other crossfunctional personnel in finalizing design concepts. Prepares preliminary sketches or diagrams reflecting basic design concept. Makes mathematical calculations and adjustments in drawings and specifications. Recommends changes or modifications as appropriate to meet manufacturability, functionality and measurability requirements. Prepares and oversees final layout, detail, assembly drawings, and other required documentation. Creates computer models of the product design concept.
