Job Title: Technical Trainer, Software, Cambridge
Description
The Company - Our Client:

Their software powers the full spectrum of mission-critical enterprise applications including pan-enterprise search, proactive Information Risk Management, information governance, eDiscovery, consolidated archiving, call centre solutions, rich media management, security applications, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Knowledge Management (KM) and BPM.

Working as part of the Training team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of Autonomy training courses. If you are technically capable, enjoy training other people and like to travel occasionally this is the ideal job for you

The Role - Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Possess an advanced level of technical knowledge in the software industry
• Responsible for the preparation and delivery of training courses
• Looking for a charismatic trainer to join our talented team of European IT instructors
• Explaining complex technologies to a wide variety of audiences
• Use a well balanced mixture of theoretical and practical teaching techniques to maximise knowledge retention
• Deliver occasional training courses at client and off-site
• Pre-course preparation including the training room set up, software installation and configuration of equipment.
• Preparation of course data and accompanying course documentation

Technical Skills
• Have a good working knowledge of Windows 2000/XP (Microsoft certified preferable)
• Have a good working knowledge of Linux/Unix (preferable)
• Web server/ Application Server experience with IIS, Tomcat Apache, WebSphere
• Database experience e.g. MySQL, Oracle or ODBC compliant databases.
• HTML, XML, XSLT, JSP, JavaScript
• Programming experience in either C, COM, COM+ or Java is preferable

Application Skills
• Experience with Document/Record Management Systems
• Experience with eDiscovery Technologies
• Experience with Enterprise Search Applications
• Experience with Database Applications
• Have a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Experience with Virtualisation (VMware, Virtual PC)

Training Skills
• A minimum of 1 year of software training experience
• Experience in configuring training environments, both classroom and onsite
• Ability to write training material and/or technical documentation

Personnel Characteristics:
• Excellent communication both orally and in writing.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Must be professional and confident when supporting users of all levels.
• Has to be self motivated and pro-active, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent track record of delivering training that satisfies their clients' needs.
• Practical abilities in 'hands-on' training and fully conversant with current practical and technical training aids.
• Candidates must have the ability to work within a small team as well as using their own initiative
• Must be able to display a mature and positive attitude.
• The successful applicant must hold a current driving licence and be prepared to train off-site if the need arises.

Professional and Educational Requirements:
• A track record of academic excellence.
• Bachelor's degree (Minimum 2.1) related to Computer Science/Computing.
• Qualifications in teaching desirable.
• Second language desirable (German, French or Italian) and ability to teach in second language would be an advantage.

The Package – What You Could Earn:
• £30,000 - £40,000 p.a. subject to experience
