It's expertise in providing engineering studies, risk analysis, and optimisation studies has resulted in involvement in many unique projects for a wide range of clients.My client works with the leading energy companies across the world, supporting them and advising them in complex project environments.The flat organisational structure brings together a team of highly skilful engineers, working in a dynamic and technology driven environment. My highly regarded client is now seeking to identify and employ a Senior Safety and Risk Engineer for it's London office.This position involves some travelling plus:You will be working on various types of projects and studies for it's international list of clients.You will be responsible for conducting safety and risk assessment studies for onshore and offshore projects and you will also be involved in other types of studies.You will be working in teams and sometimes working individually.You will also attend workshops and be client-facing.The predominant industry is oil and gas and also renewable energy. You will be conversant with traditional safety engineering and have experience in conducting risk analysis. You will be analytical and have experience with probabilistic modelling. You will be skilful with hazard analysis, frequency analysis, consequence analysis and associated assessments. You will be very comfortable with writing study reports. You will be keen to contribute to the continued growth of a dynamic consultancy.Successful applicants will have an excellent track record of academic and professional achievements:You should have a PhD or MSc in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent academic qualification.You should have minimum 10 years experience in safety and risk analysis for the oil and gas industry. That will include experience in some or all of: Safety Case studies, hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and operability reviews (HAZOP), emergency systems survivability analysis (ESSA), evacuation, escape and rescue analysis (EERA), quantitative risk analysis (QRA), reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) analysis, failure modes, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA), fault tree analysis (FTA) amongst others.You will be familiar with the use of industry software for the analysis of safety and risk. You will be analytical and you will have experience in risk assessment, probabilistic analysis and numerical modelling.You will be keen to learn and be a self-starter.You will be keen to contribute to building the company and coaching younger engineers. You are ambitious and serious about your career. You have excellent skills in oral and written English. You will have great interpersonal skills.The position requires a highly skilled engineer who is prepared to work in a dynamic, challenging and varied work environment.
