| Job Title: Senior Design Engineer |
| Description |
| Ensure that all project safety principles and requirements are implemented in the project design and development processes. Team leader (technical and coordinative) for all safety discipline personnel in Offshore HSE department. Liaise with HSEQ personnel and other project staff members, as well as contractor personnel. Provide guidance and specialist experience on safety policies, procedures and objectives, as well as suitability of assessment methods and work processes.
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the all activities related to Safety in the design of Offshore Platform, Trunkline, Subsea Production System and Umbilical, Flowline and Riser System, in compliance with Company HSE policies, procedures and objectives, as well as international and local standards and requirements.
Main activities are:
In close coordination with the HSE Manager, implement Company requirements, policies and procedures related to Safety matters in design studies.
Oversee/ support COMPANY safety engineers and supervise call-off sub-contractors for safety engineering activities and guide main contractors with respect to COMPANY HSE processes and requirements. Oversee the design of the installation, review and comment on the validity of the safety studies. These are related to Offshore Platform, Trunkline, Subsea Production System and Umbilical, Flowline and Riser System.
Oversee contractor designs and coordinate COMPANY disciplines in terms of Emergency Response.
Technical Development planning regarding EER/ JIP’s
Independent Verification involvement
Prepare and coordinate reviews such as HAZOP’s, QRA’s conducted during FEED stage.
Conduct Safety reviews (i.e. design verification) on concept developed by Contractors during Design Competition for the Floating Platform.
Liaise and report to the Engineering Manager, highlighting the concerns encountered in the performance of his duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Accountable for the quality and conformity of his own work and supervised activities/ studies
Respect of the Operating Company Governance rules and principles.
Accountable for ensuring that Safety requirements are duly advised and coordinated in Contractors’ design of Offshore Platform, Trunkline, Subsea Production System and Umbilical, Flowline and Riser System.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Between 10 and 15 years of experience at similar position on similar project.
Sound experience in Safety Design and sound knowledge of safety regulations, norms, standards from similar projects.
Charted engineer or equivalent. Fluent English is mandatory. Good communication skills. |
