| Job Title: Senior Corrosion Engineer |
| Description |
Position Summary Design, manage or implement as appropriate assigned asset corrosion control strategy (ies), participate in and effectively report upon associated activities and practices and provide corrosion engineering support services to the company and/ or client companies. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure Regulatory and BP standard compliance.
Support Delivery Manager (DM) in appropriate aspects of management of our contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management.
Support DM in production of Monthly Performance Management Report (Dashboard).
Design, manage and implement corrosion management control strategy(ies).
Deliver annual and periodic reports, corrosion status of systems, identification and assessment of significant trends from surveys.
Input to the production and ongoing management of the Installation Annual Inspection Plans and Integrated Field Planning (IFP) compliance for corrosion monitoring activities.
Input in the development of appropriate annual budget.
Discipline lead for corrosion, including recommendations from inspection anomalies and failures.
Provide support to Verification activities related to applicable Performance Standards.
Assist with the implementation of an Integrity Risk Management Process, aligned to the SPU
Risk Management Process.
Ensure effective data management within ACET.
Assist with corrosion / integrity input to platform Turnaround (TAR) Programmes.
Responsible for compliance with relevant BP Site Technical Practices (STP’s) and Safety Management System (SMS) documents.
Input to the IQRO process for corrosion and materials issues.
Maintain appropriate level of contact with Asset Teams, 3rd Parties and internal disciplines to ensure an effective Inspection Corrosion Management (ICM) service.
Ensure the effective application of innovative inspection and corrosion engineering applications and specialist technologies.
Assist the DM to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service.
Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion /inspection monitoring data (using ACET® or other databases as apt).
Recommend changes in corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programmes where appropriate.
Provide corrosion expertise to and effectively interact with multi disciplinary RBI or other process groups.
Undertake or co-ordinate failure investigations into material and corrosion issues in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures.
Participate in and provide input to the regular review of corrosion management information such as Corrosion and Chemical Control Matrices and KPI’s.
Prepare, management and chair the regular corrosion and integrity tactical review meetings and coordinate actions arising.
Provide technical leadership and authority in designated corrosion engineering disciplines.
All work to be carried out in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Qualifications Chartered or Incorporated Engineer/Degree/HNC Level
5 years engineering experience of Pressure Systems and corrosion Additional Information Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and dealing with clients.
Must have Offshore Medical and Survival Certificates and be physically fully capable of overseeing all corrosion monitoring activities.
