| Job Title: Fundraising Data Analyst |

| Job purpose
To contribute to increasing net income raised by the fundraising department by providing data selections, creating reports and undertaking data analysis to help develop the overall fundraising program.
The primary focus of this post is to support the organisation but a close working relationship, sharing knowledge and expertise with the Fundraising Data Analysts based in Dublin, is required to maximise results and income.
Duties and responsibilities
Reports to: Direct Marketing Manager
Data segmentation and targeting:
Produce data selections for fundraisers using specific criteria on Concerns supporter database for a wide range of fundraising activities. These will include appeal mailings, retention mailings, community event mailings, telemarketing, email and advocacy campaigns
Timely provision of data liaise with project manager or external agency to ensure data is delivered to schedule and to correct specification
Work with fundraisers to monitor and review segmentation strategy in order to enable optimum return on expenditure.
Act as statistical advisor for any tests undertaken
Reporting and Analysis to support the fundraising team:
Produce a range of regular weekly, monthly and other ad hoc reports to inform the fundraising programme. Including campaign analysis, attrition analysis, LTV, supporter profiling, etc
Pro-actively identifying key insights and trends and providing reports and communications to help improve decision making and management of activities of fundraising team
Produce regular reporting for key performance indicators and improving systems for reporting
Working with the users, manage the design and set-up of standard reports from the ThankQ supporter database.
Support the planning and budgeting process, providing agreed data and analysis to help fundraising managers draft/review annual budgets
Training and Communications
proactively communicating analysis and reports through written reports and presentations to the fundraising team and wider stakeholders where appropriate.
Train non-technical users in practical use and potential of package.
Promotion of database principles work with fundraisers to improve their reporting skills
Collaborative working
Work closely with the Data team in Republic of Ireland, the fundraising team, the fundraising systems team) and external data suppliers to learn and share knowledge.
Work with other departments such as finance and supporter services, to enable access to information held in the database.
Be a key point of contact supporter database for direct marketing and data agencies
Undertake project work as may be required from time to time.
Some travel will be required to our other UK offices - London, Belfast, Glasgow and to Dublin
Essential
Minimum 3 years experience in database marketing.
Strong technical knowledge and experience in analysis techniques. Must be able to generate complex statistical information and both interpret and communicate results appropriately
High-level database skills including extensive experience in the construction of complex reports in an SQL environment.
Proficient in the MS Office suite, including Excel and Word,
Excellent communications skills with proven ability to explain technical issues to non specialists
Flair for interpreting and presenting complex or detailed information in a user friendly, easily accessible way
Proven track record in project management
Attention to detail with high standards on accuracy of work
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work on own initiative
Experience of working to tight deadlines.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work and ability to work under pressure
Good experience and understanding of applying statistical validation techniques
Desirable
Qualification in computing or statistics
Have a good understanding of, and commitment to, data analysis for a charity
Interest in development issues and the work of our client
