| Description |
1. JOB PURPOSE The planner will be responsible for the production of pre-tender and contract planning documents in co-operation with the bid and contract teams. This responsibility will extend to all prospective and secured projects including:
a. Pre-tender programmes b. Bid presentation documents c. Master programmes d. Subcontractor procurement schedules e. Information requirements schedules f. Drawing issue and approval management (tender & secured contract)
The planner must have the ability to examine all available information to identify methods of construction and sequencing requirements, incorporate off-site restraints such as material availability, identify information required and communicate effectively with the Clients team.
The planner must also be skilled in information co-ordination duties including management of design team and supplier drawings, site queries and instructions, and be able to compile and present accurate progress reports. 2. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES 2.1 Pre – tender bid compilation in conjunction with bid estimator. The interpretation of the client’s programmes recommendations. The production of the method statement and associated bid presentation document of required. 2.2 Assistance with the control of pre-tender drawing receipt and issue. 2.3 Master programme management through tender and secured contract phase. Liaison with operations staff to ensure the contract is managed within the timescales indicated in the master. 2.4 To provide assistance to the project team in maintaining a record of progress against the master programme 2.5 Ensuring the contract responsibility is met in managing the drawing receipt, approval and issue process throughout the duration of the contract 2.6 Assisting when required with the extension of time request and other contractual matters relating to performance against the master programme 3. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 3.1 Preferably a graduate/HND/HNC, but essential minimum five years experience in a planning related position. 3.2 Knowledge of the construction Industry software packages (Power Project V7, CS Project etc) 3.2 Knowledge of the digital management of drawing receipt, approval & issue 3.4 Conversant with the various forms of construction contract specifically with regard to contract performance and the duties contained therein 3.5 Possesses experience of a short term high volume contracting environment 3.6 Is able to present a professional image at all levels of interaction internally and externally with the client when required
