Job Title: Patent Counsel

Description

Job Location: Palo Alto, CA

Patent Counsel The candidate will report to the Director of Legal Affairs. Will determine whether proposed inventions are innovative, eligible to be patented and conducive to enhancement of the corporate portfolio. Prepare patent applications and then monitor the portfolio to enforce Intellectual Property rights if patents are infringed. Assist with the completion of invention disclosures and the Drafting and filing of patent applications consistent with the company's Intellectual Property Policies and Procedures. Provide cost-effective Management of outside counsel. The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited school. A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required. Must have 5+ years of experience in U.S. and foreign patent preparation and prosecution at a law firm and/or in-house. Should be licensed to practice law in at least one state. Must be registered to practice before the USPTO. Should have experience with consumer electronic devices. Must have ability to Travel to corporate headquarters as necessary.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited school. A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required.
