MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To maintain and improve standards of service and develop the procedures within the Food service operation areas whilst training and developing the team. Commitment to Quality All staff are expected to care for our Customers in a Friendly, helpful, efficient and professional manner at all times. Accountabilities To ensure that the team give exemplary hospitality to the guest at time. To ensure that orders of food and beverage are served promptly in accordance with hotel standards. To ensure that the team are fully conversant with all operating systems. To produce and ensure that the team work to an agreed rigid cleaning procedures and highest standards of cleanliness and tidiness is maintained at all times. To ensure liquor control is strictly maintained at all times. To ensure that the team adheres to the correct opening times and that open/ close procedures are followed. To maintain and improve food and beverage profits by monitoring wastage and breakages and implementing remedial actions. Ensuring revenue is maximised through correct billing opportunities at all times. Ensure that the team act upon all up selling opportunities at all times. To report all maintenance faults to the maintenance department, and follow the remedy through. To ensure that all standards relating to security are maintained with emphasis on the following: - Liquor Stocks - Hotel Equipment - Bar Keys - Bar Floats - Bar Glasses To build a consensus and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions to problems. Display a pro-active and consistent approach to stock control, cost control and cash control.
To display a pro-active and innovative approach to skills development and standards enhancement with your team. Ensure communication procedures are effective and efficient on a day to day basis, so that service standards are not compromised. To effectively administer and plan rotas, timesheets, lieu time and holidays to meet business needs and wage control. To carry out appraisals as per Company procedures. Ensuring recruitment, training, development and staffing levels are as required, whilst demonstrating a management style that is both hands on and strategic. Continuously analyse actual standards observed against department standards. Demonstrate a pro-active approach to delivering company and operational standards and actively challenge deviation. To be able to act with initiative, planning for the future and possible consequences. Being pro-active in getting things done and exceeding expectations of both guests and colleagues where possible. To develop interactive customer relations and to be aware of any possible future requirements. To relay such information and ideas to the Operations / General Manager for the enhancement of customer expectation. To support with initiative and commitment the overall objectives of the business in terms of, revenues, costs and team work whilst developing your personal competency levels. To attend and contribute to all daily / weekly team meetings. To have a through knowledge of and adherence to the law with regard to the following company regulations: - Licensing Laws - Health & Safety Regulations - Food handling & hygiene laws - Fire regulations and procedures - First Aid Procedures - Company Policies & Procedures
To adhere to Company, Hotel and Department Service Standards. To take part in any training and development activities as recommended. To assist with induction and training of new team members and other new members of staff as appropriate. Ensure new team members received departmental induction within their first week. To adhere to Company image standards and ensure team fully comply with these. To be fully conversant with and adhere to Hotel Fire Procedures, Health & Safety Policy and all other legal requirements. To take on any other reasonable duties, or carry out requests necessary to ensure we deliver the highest standard of service in the hotel To ensure total confidentiality is observed in the execution of your duties.
